Tier FAQ
Tier Tryouts – FAQ
1) When will dates/times be posted for my players tryouts?
- Finalization of registrations are ongoing, we aim to have dates/times posted to MJMH website with at least 7 days’ notice of the ice times.
2) What if I don’t see my players name in any of the groupings?
- While this is a manual task, some players may get missed in the spreadsheets. Please reach out to tier@mjhockey.com and inquire.
3) What are pre-skates? Who is to attend these?
- Pre-skates are UNEVALUATED skates. This will have a ‘practice-like’ structure to them just getting the players use to being back on their skates. BOTH skaters and goalies will have pre-skates leading up to evaluations
4) Will the goalies have their own ‘time trials’ session that skaters have?
- Yes. Goalies will have an evaluated session with the other goalies in their age division like the players time trials.
5) Who is completing the evaluations for my player?
- Hockey Saskatchewan will be completing evaluations
6) I’m from outside Moose Jaw, what happens if my player doesn’t make the ‘AA’ team?
- If your player is unsuccessful in making the ‘AA’ team, you will require a concession from Hockey Saskatchewan to be able to participate in the A Black/White game if you wish to play ‘A’ hockey in Moose Jaw. If you don’t wish to play ‘A’ hockey in Moose Jaw, then nothing else is required and you will return to your ‘home center’.
7) Is the Tier Tryout fee refundable?
- Please contact tier@mjhockey.com for details. Every circumstance is different and we understand that but we ask you reach out prior to September 1 st with your request.
8) When will we know what team our player is on for the scrimmages?
- Once the time trials have been completed, players will be placed as equally as possible on the teams and posted to the website.
