All player registrations must be accopmanied by a deposit of $50.00 and Post dated cheques.   

All fees must be paid in full by October 31, 2010.  Accepted method of payment; cash or cheque.  $40.00 NSF on all returned cheques.  Please note that if a players fees are being paid for through any type of sponsorship this must be in place and confirmed prior to players being allowed to participate.

For families is 3 or more siblings registered a discount will be applied.   Discounted fees apply only to every third youngest child.  Example to calculate fee:  Fee $440.00 - $36.00 (SHA Insurance) = $404.00/2 = $202.00 + $36.00 = $238.00 due

The fee for Moose Jaw Minor Hockey is set prior to the start of the season for each division based on components such as ice time, equipment, referees, SHA Insurance, # of games, etc. 

The teams generally hold a parents’ meeting once the team is formed and set up their agenda for the season.  Some teams do some fundraising to offset additional costs, but this is left up to the individual teams.  Teams may also forgo asking for additional money at the beginning of the season, but rather in post-dated cheques or fundraising commitments. 

If the player participates on a Tier I, II or Female team in the Peewee ,Bantam and Midget Divisions, additional fees are determined by December 30, of the current season.  These fees allow for expenses associated with higher level traveling teams.  All of the teams play in leagues outside of MJMJA. 

PROGRAM INFORMATION

INITIATION                                   Programs for 4 to 6 year olds. Instruction for players at this level will focus on fun and skill development.  Players will be placed with other players of similar age and skill level.  It is the programs goal to introduce and build on skating skills, then move on to the introduction of basic hockey skills. At the higher levels players will be introduced to traditional Hockey games.  This program follows the Prescribed Hockey Canada Initiation Program Instruction.

NOVICE                                                   For Players Born in 2002 and 2003.  At this level the players will build on the instruction that they learned in the Initiation Level.  All players male and female are evaluated at the beginning of the season and then are divided into two divisions and then equal teams within the division. 

ATOM                                                       For Players born in 2000 and 2001. At this level the players continue to build on the instruction of the coaches.  They are evaluated at the beginning of the season and divided in two divisions.  Each division is then split into equal teams. 

PEEWEE                                                      For players born in 1998 and 1999. Players at this level will have the opportunity to try out for the Tier I and II teams.  These teams are selected from the pool of kids who register for tryouts (a small fee may apply).  These teams play in leagues outside of MJMHA; extra fees will apply.  All players who are not successful at gaining a spot on one of the two teams will automatically be evaluated and placed on a PW Tier III team. 

BANTAM                                                                      For Players born in 1996 and 1997. Players have the opportunity to try out for the Tier I & Tier II teams. These teams are selected from the pool of kids who register for tryouts (a small fee may apply). These teams play in leagues outside of MJMHA; extra fees will apply.  All players not successful at gaining a spot on one of the two teams will automatically be evaluated and placed on a Bantam tier III team.  

MIDGET                                                               For players born in 1993-1994-1995. Players will have the opportunity to try out for the Tier I & II teams.  These teams are selected from the pool of kids who register for tryouts (fees may apply).  These teams play in leagues outside of MJMHA; extra fees will apply.  All players who are not successful at gaining a spot on one of the two teams will automatically be evaluated and placed on a Midget Tier III team. OVERAGE MIDGET: Players born in 1992 can register to play if they are enrolled in high school full time.  These players may be subject to some restrictions during tournament and provincial play.

FEMALE                                                           Female teams from Novice to Midget will be formed if registration numbers support.  Novice and Atom play in the Moose Jaw League, extra fees will apply at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels.  The PW team plays in hockey Regina and the Bantam and Midget teams play in the South Sask Female Hockey League.  

JR “C”                                                                This program is open to players 20 years of age as of December 31st, of the current year.  This team plays out of Hockey Regina’s Jr C League, and traditionally begins during the month of October.  Pre-registration is encouraged.
